This spring break, 26 students and staff members made our fifth and final trip to New Orleans, LA to help with the recovery efforts after the 2005 hurricane. They teamed up with Helping Hands, a project of Catholic Charities, whose primary goal is to move neighbors back into their homes. The team worked on include drywall, siding, painting and landscaping. They are a wonderful organization and we were blessed to work along side them.
We will be planning an Alternative Spring Break trip to another destination for 2011. We'll have more details and information about signing up in the fall.
Volunteer with "No More Deaths" this Spring Break.
For the past two years, No More Deaths has conducted a successful Alternative Spring Break program. Spring Break volunteers do essentially the same things summer volunteers do, just with a bit more emphasis on education. The cost is tentatively set at $140 for the week (7 days at $20 per day). You will need to provide your own transportation to Southern Arizona.
