Marriage Preparation Classes at All Saints Catholic Newman Center

Please keep in mind that attendance at marriage preparation classes is only one part of the requirements for marriage preparation in the Catholic Church.

Newman Center marriage preparation classes are held once per semester on six consecutive Wednesdays from 7-9 p.m. Our classes for the Spring 2008 semester are now closed.

We also offer a marriage preparation weekend series once per semester, which will be held Friday, April 4, and Saturday, April 5. Attendance will be required for the entire session. Registration for this series is now closed, though you may request to be added to a waiting list.

Classes on the following topics are presented by guest speakers:

  • The Sacrament of Marriage
  • Personality
  • Family of Origin (our first families)
  • Sexuality, Intimacy, and Commitment
  • Navigating Shared Time, Money, and Home Maintenance
  • The Basics of Budgeting and Investing
  • Money and Marriage
  • Communication Skills
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Deepening Couple Spirituality
  • Building a Faith-Filled Family

Classes are held in the Siena Room of the All Saints Catholic Newman Center, 230 E. University Drive, Tempe. The Siena Room is located in the main building to the west of the Old Church, upstairs on the left. Attendance is required at all sessions.

If you are participating in the full marriage preparation program, classes are included in your marriage preparation fee. Otherwise, a $100 class fee for registered members of the Newman Center and $150 for members of other parishes is payable by cash or check at the first session.

You may register for classes on a first-come, first-served basis. We limit our classes to 12 couples per series. Couples are expected to attend all sessions.
